Remote Graphic Designer

Position Description
Isometric is working on several exciting branding and exhibition design projects for prominent cultural institutions and is seeking a remote graphic designer to join our team! The ideal candidate would have 2–3 years of studio experience and be comfortable with diverse media including print, digital, and spatial graphic design. Exhibition design interest and experience are a huge plus. Isometric is interested in building a team of creative collaborators with a range of lived and professional experiences. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups in design including women, queer and gender non-conforming people, people with disabilities, and people of color.
Our team is highly collaborative and works remotely via Zoom. Most team members are based in New York City, though out-of-state and international candidates are welcome to apply. Our studio environment is ideal for close collaboration and provides an opportunity for leadership and initiative. We emphasize a context where good ideas and work are respected and implemented.

Skills + Qualifications
— BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
— 2 to 3 years of design studio or agency experience
— Sensitive, soulful approach to content
— Exceptional type, color, and composition skills
— Thoughtful attention to detail
— Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
— Desire to rethink what design could be
— Facility with illustration and/or motion graphics

Responsibilities
— Sketch concepts by hand and in Adobe programs
— Prepare benchmarking and concept presentations
— Offer critique, new ideas, and research to further design concepts
— Design exhibition, print, and digital layouts
— File preparation for exhibit production, print, and digital deployment
— Custom typography and illustration skills
— Video and animation skills are a plus

Studio Description
Isometric is a graphic design and architecture consultancy based in New York City. We work on visual identity, print, digital, and exhibition projects for major institutional clients including Google, IKEA, Oatly, National Black Theatre, Museum of the City of New York, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and Cornell Johnson Museum of Art. In particular, our work addresses complex social issues, amplifying activism on gender equity, climate change, racial justice, LGBTQ+ identity, and immigrant rights.
